I almost Gave Up—and What Pulled Me Through

There were several moments in my art journey when I almost walked away. Not just from a painting, or a bad day in the studio, but from the whole thing. It wasn’t just one thing that pulled me to the edge. It was a slow build-up of creative exhaustion, comparison and the fear of not being good enough. I didn’t find my way back all at once. It came in small, quiet moments that reminded me why I started in the first place.

Out of the blue, someone sent me a photo of one of my paintings hanging in their home. They told me how it made them feel calm every day—and how much it meant to them. That one message reminded me: This matters to someone. I permitted myself to make bad art. To paint without posting. To scribble, play, and get messy again. And slowly, the pressure lifted.
